Catherine Johnson Court was SHV’s first new construction and first Low Income Housing Tax Credit project. It includes 36 units of housing constructed on a 1.6 acre site on the corner of 4th and Eastern in the Spokane Valley. The project opened in October of 1996 and offers 18 two-bedroom and 18 three-bedroom units, eight of which are barrier-free. Rents are affordable to household with incomes between 30% and 60% of the area median. There are additional set-asides for disabled persons and large families. The project has on-site management. Total development costs were $2.9 million.
